Abstract/Summary
One hundred twenty fecal samples from Barangay Santo Cristo, Bago Bantay, Quezon City were examined for the prevalence of Ascaris lumbricoides and Trichuris trichiura infections. Kato Thick Smear method was used in identifying the parasites. A total of 49.17 percent were found positive with helminthic infections. The prevalence rate of Ascaris lumbricoides was 39.17 percent as compared to Trichuris trichiura which accounted fro 2.50 percent. Mixed infections of A. lumbricoides and T. trichiura were also noted at be 7.50 percent.
