Abstract/Summary

Executive Summary. It was stated in Chapter 1 that some of the problems found in the car sunshades currently sold in the market include limited designs, less cooling efficiency, see-through designs, etc. In response to the need for a car sun shade that would compensate for all the said shortcomings in the car sun shade, the proponents chose to manufacture one that could provide more cooling efficiency, convenience, style and durability.

In the Market Study, the proponents identified De La Salle University as its primary market for the reason that it was the most accessible while the secondary market were the residents of villages and subdivisions such as Ayala Alabang Village, Dona Manuela Subdivision, Magallanes Village, Aeropak Subdivision and UPSV Parañaque. The proponents also considered their friends, relatives as well as schools where they have contacts with as other alternative markets. To identify the target market's preferences, on the other hand, the proponents administered a survey. The data gathering procedure the group made use of was that of the probability data gathering procedure otherwise known as the random sampling method. Respondents were from the colleges of Business and Economics, Engineering and Liberal Arts. The results revealed the respondents' profiles, their demand for the product, as well as their preferences in terms of design, color, packaging and price.

In Chapter 3, the Technical Study, the group determined their production capacity. The minimum of which were 8 units, maximum of 32 units and an average of 20 units per production day. They had attained these results from the time and motion study that they had conducted. The manufacturing process of the product was also laid out in the chapter and broken down into eight steps. The production would follow an assembly-line method.

Chapter 4 of the feasibility study covered the management and legal aspects. It was stated there that the proponents chose the corporation as its form of ownership for the following reasons: 1) Since the corporation is a juridical being, it can enter into contracts and buy properties under its own name, 2) it has a limited liability for each shareholders, 3) it is more stable compared to other forms of ownership, and 4) it makes the accumulation of a larger capital possible. The corporate name chosen by the proponents was 'Car-Toon Shade, Inc. This corporation is composed of 9 incorporators and it shall exist for a period of 10 months from the date of incorporation. The total investment made by the incorporators was P21,600, with each incorporator contributing P2,400. This chapter also discussed the duties and responsibilities of each of the members in the board of directors, executive officers and key officers. It also stated the general administrative programs that include such matters like position rotations, salaries and wages, working hours, attendance, rules and regulations, tardiness and overtime. Project scheduling, on the other hand, would involve the use of a Gantt Chart. This Gantt Chart would be the corporation's guide in its operations.

Chapter 5 included all the financial aspects of the study. This included budgets for sales, direct and indirect materials, direct and indirect labor. These budgets would then yield the projected income statements and balance sheets. These financial statements, would reflect the profitability or non-profitability of the business venture.

Lastly, Chapter 6 covered the socio-economic aspect of the study. This chapter indicated the social desirability of the proponents' product in the society.
