Abstract/Summary

Dog owners are now treating their dogs with the luxury and lavishness attributed to the humans. They buy them high fashion clothing, bring them to grooming salons, give them birthday parties and in extreme cases, even buy them a land. This study shows three owners and their reasons as to why do they spend so much. Their purchasing capability is one big factor, but their human-dog relationships play a greater weight. They fill a void within these owners, making them more than just pets. They have become their companions, friends, sisters and children-an indispensable part of the family.
