Abstract/Summary

Death is an inevitable reality that every individual goes through, though some more than others. It is in the way that we cope and deal with death, which differentiates a life of struggle from a life, which still has much to offer.

Bella Morte tells the story of a young man who struggles to go on with a life he finds no beauty in. Death has surrounded him from the moment his brother died to the moment he took on an occupation as a Mortuary Cosmetologist. It was his constant reality on a daily basis. It is only until he makes an unlikely friend in an old street vendor does he begin to mature and find meaning in the life he still has stretched out in front of him. The short film explores the many ways death can alter the life of a person. It illustrates the realization of learning the value of life ironically through encounters with death.
