Abstract/Summary
This study is designed mainly for providing adequate information on the behavior of buses and passengers on the SM Megamall bus stop. Also, aims to come up with an efficient queuing system that will maximize the usage of the bus stop and at the same time reducing delay time due to different factors that must be eliminated.
The group gathered sufficient data that described the behavior of the buses in a span of two hours on each particular day of the week. This was achieved by using two method the video camera and the registration number survey. Next, the group gathered data describing passenger behavior. Particularly, the group conducted 5 surveys on the ratio of passengers going in and out of the bus stop, each done with duration of 15 minutes random samples and actually boarding it. This was performed to get time of buses in the bus stop and the number of passengers boarding and embarking the bus.
The video footage and registration number surveys, and all other data was then justified as applicable for queuing analysis using graphs describing the behavior and the output of the SPSS software.
Finally, the group presented a queuing system that will minimize delay time and will maximize the usage of the bus stop.
