Abstract/Summary

The existence of a harmonious relationship between the EU and Russia is questionable because of some conflicting interests as well as ambitions by both parties. However, effective collaboration is evident between them with regards to the joint efforts of their respective space agencies. This study aims to provide a general overview of the European Union Russia relationship, and to determine the effect of EU and Russia's space cooperation on their overall EU-Russia relations by analyzing the developments, so far, of the EU and Russia's relationship at present and by examining the behavior of the two actors, using the Regime and Constructivist theories, as well as the agreements and the actual collaborative projects that took place between the two parties, in line with several given criteria for space cooperation. By examining the dynamics of their relationship in this aspect, the researchers gained insight on the effect of space collaboration on EU-Russia relations, and vice-versa.
