Abstract/Summary

Skate along the Riles is a 12-minute video documentary about the skate which is the primary means of transportation of people living along the railroad. The Philippine National Railways discourages the operation of skates because of its danger but still skate operators insist 1 continuing their operation. This documentary shows the history of the skate and its present operation particularly in Sta. Mesa.

This documentary was shot using a V-8 camera, edited using a non-linear system and transferred to VHS format. The language used in the narration and interiews was Filipino.

With this documentary, the proponents would like to show that Filipinos use their creativeness in fighting poverty.
