Abstract/Summary
An ethnobotanical survey of the Tagibulos Dumagats of Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija was conducted in an attempt to determine the role of the plants in the culture of the Tagibulos Dumagats. Basic ethnobotanical procedures were carried out to obtain relevant data namely: observation, participation, interviews, photography, and collection of botanical specimens. A total of 160 species belonging to 61 families were found to be economically significant to the Tagibulos Dumagats as sources of food, medicine, beverage, seasoning and spices, building materials, poison, tools and household articles, firewood, animal feeds and personal ornaments. Plants were also found to be culturally significant as part of their beliefs and practices.
