Abstract/Summary
Presentation tools are an integral part of modern-day activities, from business to academics. This is most evident in the popularity of Microsoft PowerPoint, Apple Keynote and other presentation authoring systems. Their presentations, however, have several limitations such as a strict linear slide show format that limits user flexibility. There is another limitation input. There has only ever been for a 2D-button type input in navigating presentations. In presentations, graphical representation is integral. Interacting with different media formats is also limited. Images, texts, and videos are displayed in the exact form and order they were created. 3D models are mostly absent in most authoring systems due to incompatibility with most input devices. A solution could be found using 3D input instead. These 3D inputs, which will be provided by a Nintendo Wii controller. This will give presenters a more active role with an array of new capabilities unavailable to 2D input devices. This could also justify the inclusion of 3D models since these 3D gestures can now be used to manipulate the viewpoint of the mode, a 3D space not possible had there only been a single input. With this new 3D input variety of presentations are freed from strict linear slide shows and can now achieve a new level of interactivity and flexibility by allowing functionalities unavailable to regular 2D inputs.
