Abstract/Summary

Picture Books 2 is an extension of an existing story generation system that was developed by a thesis group in De La Salle University-Manila. The system that they created automatically generates stories based only from a single scene or picture created by the user. This limits the number of stories that can be generated by the system as well as the influence of the user on the outcome of the story. Picture Books 2 addressed this issue by allowing the users to input multiple scenes. The system includes character traits and considers the characters or objects changes to affect the outcome of the story. The input scene is comprised of an environment or a world, characters and objects which are selected from a pre-defined set of stamps that the users can choose from. Through these, the system creates a structured representation of the story that will be generated. Moreover, the stories generated by the system are intended for children within the ages of six to eight.
