Abstract/Summary

A study on marine gastropod shells was conducted last June 1991 in the province of Bauang, La Union specifically the barrio of Paringao. Paringao has a sandy-muddy substratum. The specimen were collected along the intertidal area during low tide to a water level of about knee-high in depth. Collection of deeper water specimen was done by local divers. A total of thirty-three species of marine gastropod shells were collected, identified, and classified. The classified species fall under one subclass, three orders, three suborders, eleven superfamilies, fifteen families, and twenty genera.
