Abstract/Summary
This paper will tackle why having children in the formative years affects the Labor Force Participation decision of the parents. This paper believes that other than family size and the usual labor force participation rate factors, children in their formative years depend on their parents and thus affect their labor force participation decisions. This paper uses Probit and data from APIS in finding the relationship between the dependent variable, labor force participation decision and the independent variable, having children in their formative years.
