Abstract/Summary
The term fan originated from the Latin word fanaticus, meaning a devotee. Fans, being ardent consumers of celebrities, are considered essential in the process of icon and star building. There have been several studies about fan behavior. This research paper presents the cultural, behavioral and psychological aspects of fandom. The following findings were used to pen the pilot episode of Fan Club, a mockumentary sitcom about the adventures and misadventures of the members of a fictitious Sarah Geronimo fans club.
