Abstract/Summary

The project focuses on the design of a Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) using Toolbook as the software tool. The first half of the CAI shall focus on teaching VHDL-Very High Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language-syntax and hardware modeling techniques. This will aid students in designing hardware models focusing on some simple applications. The second half shall focus on teaching Xilinx Foundation Series software as a design entry and implementation tool. This includes synthesizing VHDL models and implementing them on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) which represents the hardware prototype of the model.
