Abstract/Summary
The Manila Midtown Hotels and Land Corporation Orientation Video has a running time of twelve minutes. Within these twelve minutes, a brief history of Manila Midtown Hotels and Land Corporation was given and also its relation with Robinson's Land and The JG Summit Company. A short tour of the three hotels was also given to familiarize the employees about their sister hotels. The main content of the video revolves around the 5 C's of Excellence, which are camaraderie, commitment, concern, cordial and customer oriented. In this portion, the video stresses on the importance on the practice of these values so as to achieve their common goal of becoming a top choice hotel. To further emphasize this goal, interviews were taken from people coming from the bottom, middle and top levels of the organization regarding the importance of the values in line with their common goal. Narrations were presented in the English medium since it is one of the most widely used languages in the world.
To evaluate the video, a test would be given prior to the presentation of the video. The same test would then be given after the video. The questions would revolve around the relationships the hotels have with each other, with MMHLC, with Robinson's Land and with The JG Summit Company. Questions would also be about the importance of the 5's of Excellence in relation with their goal to become a top choice hotel and also the mission of each hotel. An increase in score seen in the second test would indicate the level of learning gained from watching the orientation video. Future follow up tests would also be administered so as to gauge whether the employees still remember the contents of the orientation video.
