Abstract/Summary
The electric company that distributes and provides electricity to households or establishments has only one means of keeping track of their energy consumption, this is with the use of the Kilowatt-hour meter. Most of these meters are analog, which fairly to say, is difficult to read.
The Digital Kilowatt-hour meter is designed and constructed to eliminate the difficulty in reading and getting the actual energy consumption. The designers used a transducer optocoupler to convert the mechanical movement of the disc of the analog kilowatt-hour meter into an electronic information for the microcontroller to process and in turn provides the digital display of the energy consumed in kilowatt-hour and the equivalent amount in pesos of this consumption.
