Abstract/Executive Summary
Arova was established in 2025 by five De La Salle University Senior High School students from the ABM strand to address the growing need for more eco-conscious products that have a wellness concept by creating drink-themed scented candles, using more environmentally friendly materials such as soy wax, gel wax, and eco-wick. These materials make the product a safer alternative to traditional paraffin candles. What sets it apart is that it combines eco-friendly and aesthetic qualities, unlike other mass-produced candles made with artificial ingredients. Arova’s marketing activities started with research and surveys, followed by online promotion via social media. Currently, the venture is at the product diversification stage, where the focus is on developing a new product to expand the product range and continue to raise awareness. Arova’s target market is De La Salle University students who prefer more eco-friendly, aesthetic, and high-quality products, and will penetrate the market by selling online and at school bazaars. The business faces competition from other brands of candles and wellness products, which are generally cheaper but either lack either the eco-friendly or aesthetic aspect. Although no patents have been applied so far, Arova’s concept and design could be considered as its competitive advantage. Lastly, the business operates as a partnership among the five founding members, with capital coming from personal savings or support from their parents or guardians. Capital was used to cover expenses during the ABM Bazaar, and all profits will be used to repay investors.
