Abstract
The Philippine social security system is handled by two government agencies, the Social Security System (SSS) and the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS). The SSS serves the needs of the private sector, andthe GSIS, those of government employees.These two agencies employ the fully-funded or reserve-fund system of financing the social security mechanism.
