Abstract
Taiwan, an island of the Republic of China, is located in both tropical and subtropical zones. It should have benefitted from temperate temperature, ample sunshine, and abundant rainfall for favorable production, but, in fact, the production was low before land reform due to unfavorable environments such as poor tenancy system and the lacking of improved technique for production.
