Abstract
THERE IS A GENERAL deterioration in the economic indicators of the external sector. The exchange rate and international reserves are exceptions: the exchange rate has stabilized while international reserves have increased. The trade liberalization program is being continued and a number of alternative approaches towards restructuring the external debt is being considered and or implemented.
