Abstract
This paper presents the conceptions of school mathematics learning and practices on instruction which mathematics educators, theorists, researchers and practitioners deem prevalent and will continue to prevail in the mathematics classroom in the next millenium. The study cites research endeavors on Philippine mathematics education that deal primarily with the current theories on teaching and learning mathematics. It attempts to draw implications of the learning theories for the secondary mathematics curriculum of our country.
