Abstract
This paper explains the design, fabrication and performance testing of an ozone friendly stationary freezer using R-404A, a non-chlorofluorocarbon (non-CFC) refrigerant. The study was conducted by the authors of CHEE PUCK REFRIGERATION INCORPORATED, PHILIPPINES. The study is also in support to the Philippine Government commitment to the Montreal Protocol to cease the use of ozone depleting substances. End result of the study showed that the design temperature of -200 C for the stationary freezer was achieved within 25 minutes.
