Abstract
In the Philippines where the annual population growth rate is high, the promotion of modern family planning methods through radio constitutes one major activity. Does the radio, having the theoretical and potential power to reach massive numbers of people, really effect the changes as so desired by the campaigns? In other, words, is it really an effective medium? What are the measures of effectiveness? In this report., the foregoing questions are answered using data from a radio campaign effort in the Philippines. Specific experiences fron1 other countries are also discussed in an effort to provide a broad context in which the Philippine data may be better assessed.
