Abstract
Sternberg (1998) proposed a theory that love is a story. According to this story, people develop stories of what a loving relationship should be. This research explored the conceptions of love among Filipino gay men using Sternberg's taxonomy of love stories. Using a mixed method design, different themes were inferred from a principal component analysis and different blends and combinations of stories emerged from in-depth interviews of participants' love stories. The themes commonly reported by Filipino gay men were garden, travel, democratic, sewing & knitting, sacrifice and history stories. Implications for gay relationship counseling are also discussed.
