Abstract
A translation from the original Spanish of the ethnographic descriptions of peoples in the northern territories of Luzon. The text is an excerpt of the "Noticias Preliminares" of the six-volume work "Historia de los Padres Dominicos en las Islas Filipinas y en sus Msiones del Japon, China, Tung-kin y Formosa" written by the Dominican friar Fr. Juan Ferrando and later on by Fr. Joaquin Fonseca, O.P. who continued the narrative until 1872. The claims are based on sources from other Dominicans like Diego Aduarte and Francisco Antolin.
