Abstract
© 2015, International Journal of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemical Research. All Rights Reserved. Chemical investigation of Cycas vespertilio male cone led to the isolation of pinoresinol (1), lariciresinol (2), mixtures of α-amyrin acetate (3a) and lupeol acetate (3b) in a 2. 5:1 ratio and β-sitosterol (4a) and stigmasterol (4b) in a 2:1 ratio, triglycerides (5), and fatty alcohols (6). The structures of 1 and 2 were elucidated by extensive 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy, while those of 3a-6 were identified by comparison of their 1H and/or 13C NMR spectra with those reported in the literature.
