Abstract
Aquinas claims that a human person is composed both of a soul and a body. This is his theory of the nature of human persons. In current philosophical jargon, this theory amounts to the claim that human persons are not purely physical or not purely psychological entities. Rather, they are psycho-physical entities. In this paper, I shall examine Aquinas' theory in light of today's discussions in the metaphysics of persons; and in doing so I would also have outlined the current philosophical terrain of the field.
