Abstract

This study assesses the East Asian region’s problems on non-performing loans (NPL) and non-performing assets (NPA) before, during and after the Asian crisis. It describes the pre-crisis situation for most to the ASEAN+3 countries, details how each country responded and managed the crisis in particular, and analyzes the prospects, post crisis, for the region, in general.
