Abstract

"Ask not what the country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country!" - John F. Kennedy, remember this very famous inaugural speech by one of the most charismatic American presidents?

This paper examines the correlation between the social, economic, and political problems of the Philippines among others and the lack of nationalism or love of country among Filipinos. This paper presents the various problems of the Philippines with substantial statistics from reliable agencies like government and scholastic institutions to establish that the Philippines is indeed confronting serious issues and problems. Examples of these problems are mass poverty, government graft and corruption, and high crime rate, and more. Hypothesizing the root cause of the growing problems of the country, this paper tries to cite only a few among substantial amount of data gathered the major serious problems, their probable causes, and conclusive suggestions to address the problems.
