Abstract

The counseling practice in the Philippines is now professionalized. Psychological activities are regulated. Only licensed counselor can do counseling work. This study examined the counseling and psychological services' status in Davao City; the different psychological services that the respondents are aware of, the frequency of utilizing these services, the need of these services to promote mental health, its availability in the city, the respondents' willingness to pay for the service and the helping professionals' need for clinical supervision. The descriptive method was used in obtaining accurate and meaningful description of the clinical psychological needs of groups. Meaningful results were found and a strong recommendation to establish a counseling and psychological wellness center for Davao City clients was forwarded.
