Abstract
The project aims
- to distinguish biodiversity components of the freshwater ecosystems of Palawan
- to deliver data contributing to the protected area sustainability assessment of the Manguao catchment, a key area of the freshwater biodiversity in the Philippines
- to train and to sensitise junior scientists, environmentalists and local communities to conservational problems and their solutions
- to introduce and develop sustainable land use practices enabling improvement of the livelihood of local communities at the Manguao catchment and avoiding further destruction of the natural resources
