Abstract
This paper presents the results of an undergraduate thesis on the development and testing of a regenerative braking system for a hybrid gasoline-electric drive-train setup. It focuses on the development of the stationary setup, including the selection of the desirable and practical components, for the parallel hybrid drive-train, the use of a microcontroller system that enabled the control of the selection of the power sources and the prevention of the over-drain and over charging of batteries through an interfaced battery level monitoring circuit.
