Abstract
This paper aims to offer an analysis of the interaction between the world of actors and the realm of politics by using the history of Philippine local theater to examine the ways in which the “technologies” of the country’s dramatic traditions operate in election campaigns. It is my hope that in doing so, I can offer an alternative, and enlightening interpretation of the powerful grip the Eraps and FPJs have on Filipino people.
