Abstract
How do students learn? It is important to ask this question to know how to help them. Because of the power of the internet and the boom of social networking sites, students of the digital native generation have been able to use these tools to improve and expand their learning. However, not much support is given to students as they learn in these social learning environments. The paper discusses the important features that should be considered in creating a student model which can later be used to identify the appropriate support that should be given to a student as he/she learns in a social learning environment.
