Abstract
The study explored the turning points that made the battered Filipino women decide to end an abusive relationship. Data were collected using in-depth interviews with 20 battered Filipino women. Results revealed that the turning point of women fell into 5 major themes: (1) partner's infidelity or betrayal; (2) severity of abuse; (3) hopelessness that partner was not going to change; (4) impact of abuse on the children; (5) awareness of community support. Implications for counseling practice were discussed.
