Abstract
© 2014, Journal of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Research. All rights reserved. The dichloromethane extract of the air-dried twigs of Shorea contorta afforded a mixture of lup-20(29)-en-3-one (1), olean-12-en-3-one (2), and urs-12-en-3-one (3), while the leaves yielded lutein (4), chlorophyll a (5) and β- sitosterol (6). The structures of 1-6 were identified by comparison of their 1H and/or 13C NMR data with those reported in the literature.
