Abstract

Makalipas ang ilang daantaon matapos ang kumbersyon ng mga Tagalog bilang mga Kristiyano, nagpapatuloy ang mga ritwal at tradisyon ng mga Pilipino na taliwas sa turo ng simbahan. Isa ang Bisita ng Santissima Trinidad sa Lungsod ng Malolos, Bulacan sa mga dinadayo ng mga deboto dahil sa sinasabing mapaghimalang mga imahen ng Tatlong Persona, kahit pa kontrobersyal din ito dahil sa pagkakatiwalag sa Simbahang Katoliko. Sa pananaliksik na ito, itinuring na isang buong tanghalan ang Bisita ng Santissima Trinidad at sinuri ang mga ritwal na isinasagawa sa loob ng simbahan gamit ang mga teorya sa pagtatanghal. Mula rite ay iniugnay kung paanong hinuhubog ng mga ritwal na ito ang kamalayan ng mga deboto, at sa proseso ay napapanatili at naipapasa ang bahaging ito ng ating kultura.

Few hundred years may have passed since Filipinos were converted to Christianism, but the rituals and traditions that are contrary to the teachings of the church still persist. In spite of the chapel being renounced by the Catholic church, many devotees visit the Chapel of Santissima Trinidad in the City of Malolos, Bulacan because of the miraculous image of the Holy Trinity. In this research, the Chapel of Santissima Trinidad was treated as a theater, and the rituals being held inside the church were analyzed using Performance theory. The processes were used to explain how the consciousness of its devotees were being shaped, and how it was able to preserve and transfer such culture.
