Abstract
Rain significantly affects any wireless communication network's overall availability and system performance. It should be regarded as a very important criterion to be included in any type of wireless network deployment. In this study, the researchers focused on the effects of rain using ITU-R PN.837-1 in a single-box multi-band solution (71.6/81.6 GHz and 11 GHz). Part of the methodology is the combination of the result of Path Loss 5.1 simulation and MatLab to show the behavior of the communication link and analyze the results as well as the manner of availability calculation that was used. This would significantly highlight the performance of a multi-band application that looks very promising to augment the demand for high data capacity in areas where the wired network is difficult to deploy. This research is comprised of results that depict the combined availability of E-Band and Microwave Band using Path Loss and MatLab simulation in different rain climatic zones while the results are tabulated accordingly to easily understand the differences in performance of the system in different rain regions.
