Abstract
More than two thousand students wrote an essay which was graded by four independent individuals. Each individual or marker could give scores from 0 to 6 but no student got a score of 0 while very few were awarded a score of 6. In this paper, scores of 200 randomly chosen students were used and the score from each marker were treated as independent and identically distributed observations [Daley, 20023]. Aside from looking at the descriptive and frequencies of the data, the Partial Credit Model and a one factor model were used to measure the ability of each student. The former model also gave a measure of the difficulty of getting, a particular score under a particular marker.
