Abstract
The paper shall discuss the application of the Philippine's claim with United Nation on the Benham Plateau, also known as the Benham Rise which is a seismically active undersea region and extinct volcanic ridge located in the Philippine Sea. The study shall explain the significance of the international laws particularly the United Nation Conference on Law of the Seas (UNCLOS), constitutional and civil code provisions in winning the claim. It will also discuss the benefits of the discovery and acquisition of the Benham rise and how the Benham case differs with other contested territorial areas involving the Philippines.
