Abstract

Findings in a commissioned research by De La Salle University showed that high school teachers or guidance counselors are one of the influencers in a student's decision-making process when choosing a school for college. High school students see them as an authority that can be consulted in their search of a good university to choose for college. They are also the "gatekeepers" of high school institutions and students. Developing a good working relationship with them is essential if we want to increase our touch points with high school students. High school teachers and administrators are also part of our target market for graduate studies marketing. In response to this, the Office of Strategic Communications (STRATCOM) developed I. D. E.A.S. or Interactive Discourse for Educators and Administrators Seminar - a whole-day seminar sponsored by DLSU for key advisers and educators of the University's feeder high schools.
This report will provide a brief background of I. D. E.A.S and present results of the feedback form of the third staging of the event last November 2014. A feedback form was developed as a means to evaluate participants' opinion and perception of the conference. The results showed that majority of the respondents have a positive evaluation of the event. Based on the results and feedback, it is recommended that STRATCOM continue to stage I.D.E.A.S. as the event has shown that it is a good venue to engage our community as well as to promote the University's programs and initiatives.
