Abstract
The purpose of this research is to assess the Lasallian Recollection One (LASARE1) Progam towards the enhancement of the LASARE1 Program of the students of De La Salle University, in order to lead the students deeply embrace their Lasallian identity. This was done by measuring quantitatively the areas of the LASARE1 Program: content and design, presentation and materials, facilitators, and personal disposition of participants.
The study employed quantitative and qualitative: descriptive-analytical method, wherein evaluation survey, follow-up interview, reflection and document analysis were used to gather data. The subjects involved in the study were participants of the Lasallian Recollection One from seven Colleges of De La Salle University from Term 1 to 3 of academic year (A.Y.) 2013-2014; while the principal instrument used is the survey questionnaires.
The participants are appreciative of the present LASARE1 program, and are willing to enhance the existing program, as shown in the several commendations and suggestions they have given. The current LASARE1 Program will be enhanced by: having minimal revision of module and hand-outs, which will be based from: suggestions of the respondents, content of the Lasallian documents to further promote the Lasallian Charism, and challenged given to the Christian Universities; continuing the formation of facilitators, and looking into the possibility of extending the time of its session.
The data gathered by Lasallian Pastoral Office (LSPO) through the Lasallian Recollection One (LASARE1) which presents the understanding of the students' appreciation of the LASARE1, will basically help the Lasallian Pastoral Office enhance the recollection program and parallel it to the formation programs and activities of the university, hence responding to the demands of the contemporary times in promoting life's meaning, hope, common good, religious and cultural dialogue and environmental preservation (Villegas, 2013). The study assessed the strengths and weaknesses of the program which will serve as basis for modification and improvement not only of the LASARE1 but as well as other programs under the unit.
Proposal and suggestions for enhancement of the LASARE1 Program based from the data of the participants, review of related literature, and Lasallian documents. conclude this study
