Abstract

The study aims to provide a deeper understanding of vegan and vegetarian’s lifestyle and advocacy for the sustainable planet, the fight against animal cruelty, and the commitment to a healthier lifestyle in the Philippines. Exploring the factors, influences, and challenges in committing to this sustainable living, it will seek to discover the factors contributing to its purpose, nutritious and scientific knowledge of social movement. It will also try to understand the influences to shift to this lifestyle, surveying the accessibility and availability of vegan/vegetarian products to cater to the growing vegan communities in the country. The research was conducted in literature review, open-ended survey, and direct and participant observation of vegans and vegetarians in the country. The data obtained was processed and analyzed qualitatively.
