Description
Two CLA faculty members were among the awardees of the 1999 Gawad Pambansang Alagad ni Balagtas given by the Unyon ng mga Manunulat sa Pilipinas (UMPIL). Department of Literature Chair Isagani Cruz received the award for Literary Criticism in English while Department of Communication faculty Tony Perez, was given the award for Drama and Fiction in Filipino.
