Buenaventura S. Medina, Jr., of the Literature Department, received an award from the Linangan ng mga Wika sa Pilipinas (formerly Surian ng Wikang Pambansa) during the Araw ni Balagtas '88 celebration at the Bulwagang Katipunan, Manila City Hall. Dr. Medina also delivered the response on behalf of all the awardees.
