Dr. Marcelino Foronda Jr., Chairman of the History and Area Studies Department, was one of 1991's 12 outstanding educators selected by the Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co. The Metrobank search was launched in 1985. Past awardees in La Salle were Dr. Emerita S. Quito in 1985 and Dr. Eduardo Deveza in 1987.
