DLSU Fellows Dr. Ma. Lourdes Bautista and Dr. Clodualdo del Mundo, Jr. won in the 2000 National Book Awards given by the Manila Critics Circle during the 12th Philippine Book Fair. Bautista wrote Defining Standard Philippine English: Its Status and Grammatical Features while del Mundo's book was titled Bayaning 3rd World/Jose Rizal, co-authored with Mike de Leon.
