Abstract/Summary

This action research involved two cycles focused on coaching and making standard processes in construction project management in Best Build Construction Company. The technical engineers in a construction project are supposed to be knowledgeable in using project management principles. However, in newly ventured and small construction companies such as ours, this was not the case. The issue manifested in our construction firm is that our junior engineers working on our on-going construction project are not able to manage the construction site properly, causing delay in completing the real estate project. In the first cycle, the intervention made was to coach the junior engineers in project management. On the second cycle, the intervention focused in establishing a stable process in the planning stage of a construction project. Guided by the Project Management framework and the Coaching framework, our action research team successfully improved the performance of our construction project. As a Lasallian business leader and change agent, this action research demonstrated that sharing knowledge and helping one’s colleagues will benefit the organization's operational procedures.
