Abstract/Summary
The demand and essence of a human resource database have gained increasing attention among business firms. This action research aims to address the unreliable and unsecured human resource database of the organization, a new third-party logistics company. Various problems were discovered by the human resource department through the co-inquiry and root-cause analysis. These include excessive workloads of HR employees, an ineffective and not up-to-date manual platform used in storing employee details, backlogs from previous HR employees, and incomplete requirements submitted by the new hires. This action research utilized the Agile Development Methodology Framework during the planning stage for scheduled actions, accountable parties, the completion date for each phase, and other project deliverables. An electronic survey form was employed for data gathering and to measure the user’s acceptability of the developed HR database. Each employee's 201 files in the first cycle were examined to correct the inaccurate information that was reflected in the master list. On the other hand, a collaboration has been made with the IT department in the development of the program which secures the storage of the updated HR master files validated in the first cycle. Moreover, orientation and training were conducted before the employment of the developed program in the organization. Lastly, a survey was conducted to get inputs from HR employees and address the objectives presented for both cycles. The result of this action research shows the improvement of the employee database of the company. Issues and constraints of the developed program will be acknowledged and monitored to sustain, strengthen, and improve the organization further.
