Abstract (English)
This study examined the effectiveness of a Locus-of-Hope intervention in enhancing well-being among Filipino basic education teachers. Thirty-two teachers from a Catholic private school participated in the study. They were randomly assigned to either a treatment group or a waitlist control group. Participants completed the Locus-of-Hope Scale, Depression Anxiety Stress Scale, Flourishing Scale, and the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule. The intervention consisted of two 90-minute session focused on enhancing participants’ abilities to set goals, develop ways to achieve them, and sustain motivation and drive toward goal attainment. Results indicated significant increase in internal locus-of-hope and external-peer locus-of-hope among participants after undergoing the intervention. Additionally, participants demonstrated significant increase in levels of flourishing and positive affect following the intervention. These findings suggest that a Locus-of-Hope intervention may be an effective approach for promoting well-being among teachers.
